MHC Takes Honors at OC3
The MHC Competition Clogging Team attended the 3rd Annual Orange County Clogging Competition at the Orange County Fair in Montpelier on July 25. Five teams from Virginia and Pennsylvania competed. Events are classified based on the average ages of the dancers. The competition was sanctioned by the ACHF (America's Clogging Hall of Fame) and followed the official ACHF rules and guidelines. MHC ranked THIRD PLACE overall in points and earned the following trophies:
- Team Line (Junior) performed to Elevator, 2nd place
- Formation Line (Junior) performed to Universal Mind Control, 1st place
- Traditional Line (Senior) performed to Banjo Fantasy, 1st place
- Acapella Team (Senior), 1st place
- Exhibition Team (Senior) performed to Two Little Boys, 1st place
- Female Freestyle (Ages 6-7) Allyson, 1st place
- Female Freestyle (Ages 7-9) Grace, 2nd place
- Female Freestyle (Ages 12-13) Sarah, 2nd place and Lauren, 1st place
- Female Freestyle (Ages 14-15) Rebekah, 2nd place
- Female Freestyle (Ages 16-19) Megan, 1st place
- Male Freestyle (Ages 10) Justin, 2nd place
- Acapella Solo (Ages 12-15) Lauren, 1st place
- Acapella Solo (Ages 16+) Megan, 1st place
New Class for Beginners
Interested in learning to clog? Ages 6 and up are welcome to meet at the Crimora Community Center beginning on July 14 from 6:00-6:45. The class will last for six weeks. Contact Lisa for more info.
Monthly Fees for Clogging Families:
Please pay your $10 dues per month per family by the 15th of each month to our Treasurer.
In addition, please pay Lisa the $10 instructor's fee per dancer per month (instructor's fees are a maximum of $30 per family).
